What is the title of the Science Fiction book about comet dust falling to Earth and disabling machinery? Interview with author Vicki Pettersson

I am looking to get in to a more modern dark sci fi book or series but need some good suggestions. I am familiar with older stuff like Ender’s Game and Foundation but I’m looking for something recently written. What is the future of this genre?

I’m not good with pinning genres onto books, but I think that Storm Thief by Chris Wooding was a really good book that was a bit Sci-fi…and strange. In a rather creepy way.

    eternal, or sweetblood. speak.

  3. Kyndyle says:

This Side of Paradise by Stephen L. Layne is good. Don’t know if it’s really dark though.

Books by Stephen King & Dean Koontz sound like ones you would be interested in.
The ones by Stephen King are : “Cell” this is about how cell phones turn these people & people around them into zombies, and people are fighting to stay alive(not from the zombies, because the zombies dont kill people, but they want to stay human so they stay away from all electronics) its really good. Also “Dreamcatcher” this one i cannot explain to you because its too complicated to explain, but easy to understand if you read it. Its really good, and pretty dark.
Dean Koontz: The Taking: This is about like this weird stuff that starts growing on the earth, and it kills people.
The eyes of darkness: a mother is forced to believe that her son was killed in a bus accident on a way to a camping trip, but then one day she goes into his room and written on his chalkboard is “NOT DEAD”, so she goes in search for him, and makes a starteling discovery.
The darkest evening of the year: This is my favorite book by dean koontz, and i know i wont be able to tell you anything without giving it all away so j ust read it!
Your heart belongs to me: A man receieves a heart transplant, and then he gets a chilling message on his bed, “your heart belongs to me”. Amazing book.
There are many many more by dean koontz, he is my favorite author.
Life expectancy is good, also Tick Tock. There are tons, i could talk about him forever but i wont.
    Have fun with these books!
