What do people look for in a science fiction book? What is a good science fiction book for a four year old about space?

He needs it for a book report so if it has an easy to understand plot line that would be great. He also likes funny books, so if theres some humor in there that would be great too.

I read it when I was a little younger than 11 but I loved “Jeremy Thatcher Dragon Hatcher”
My brother, who is 11, really loves “The Lightning Theif” books but I haven’t read them.
    “Outer Net”
“City of Ember” – a little humor
“The Giver” -not much humor but my favorite book

Try Pendragon (A series) it may be a bit above his age group though. (it is quite funny)

My Teacher is an Alien by Bruce Coville
My Teacher Fried My Brains by Bruce Coville

The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury.
Any of the novels of William Sleator, e.g. MARCO’S MILLIONS, INTERSTELLER PIG.
Any of the “juveniles” by Robert A. Heinlein, e.g. TUNNEL IN THE SKY, HAVE SPACESUITE–WILL TRAVEL, RED PLANET, FARMER IN THE SKY.
